His Majesty the King made his inaugural trip to RAF Marham in his capacity as Honorary Air Commodore this afternoon, a title bestowed upon him in September 2023. In a memorable moment, the King climbed into the cockpit of one of the advanced fighter aircraft, getting a first-hand look at the controls of Britain's frontline combat jet. The F-35B Lightning is jointly operated by the RAF and Royal Navy as part of the Lightning Force headquartered at Marham, also serving aboard the Queen Elizabeth-class carriers. And his 13-year-old-son, Prince George, who is second in line for the throne, has already expressed his enthusiasm for the RAF. Recently, he visited RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire with Catherine, where - in a similar moment to the King this afternoon - he was spotted effortlessly entering the cockpit of a fighter jet.
