But not everyone is opposed to the plans, which have been submitted to Norwich City Council. GATEHOUSE HISTORYBuilt in 1935, the grade II listed Gatehouse is similar architecturally to the Artichoke pub in Magdalen Road and is classed as an "asset of community value" by Norwich City Council. Last year, the Gatehouse Community Hub group lost a bid to buy the pub.
