RNLI teams from Dunbar and St Abbs, as well as Coastguard teams from Eyemouth and Dunbar, were called to Pease Bay earlier today. The paddleboarders had gone afloat at the holiday park but by 10.55am had been swept about 800m off shore by a strong westerly breeze. Stand-up paddleboarders are urged to check weather conditions, wear a buoyancy aid and make sure they have a means of calling for help. The RNLI also urge people to wear the correct leash, while also taking lessons before going out on the water. A spokesman for the RNLI said: “If you get in trouble on the water call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.”
