TEHRAN/WASHINGTON – Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed it launched ballistic missiles at a US military base and a US Central Command (CENTCOM) facility in Jordan, while US officials said all incoming missiles were successfully intercepted. The IRGC said it had targeted the American military installation and CENTCOM facility with ballistic missiles. It also claimed that three oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz were detained after allegedly ignoring Iranian warnings. US media, citing military officials, reported that Iran fired multiple ballistic missiles towards US military bases in Jordan and other American positions in the Middle East. They said the Iranian proposals had been rejected by Oman, the United States, and the wider international community.
