Preparatory roadworks have commenced this week around the Bullring roundabout, ahead of road closures to facilitate its removal from next week.
Meanwhile, efforts continue to remove around 40 per cent of the shopping centre to make way for a new glass entrance and give a ‘new lease of life’ to Clyde Square.
A large section of the mall has been flattened since work began in June, including the former entrances at Clyde Square and Wallace Place.
Work is also ongoing on part of the building at the Hunters Place car park, which has now closed due to the Bullring works.
The Oak Mall demolition is due to be completed by the end of September, with a temporary external façade being installed in November.
