Officers arrived at McGartland’s home at around 5.30pm and were afforded entry by his wife. Greenock Sheriff Court heard that McGartland, of Balloch Road, immediately became hostile towards them and swore at them several times. McGartland told police to ‘get out or else’ before he was arrested and cautioned. Sheriff Fraser warned McGartland he could have been sent to custody for the offence due to his criminal record. McGartland was ordered to carry out 95 hours of unpaid work within 12 months.
