Australia continues to lead the standings with an impressive 80 medals, comprising 35 gold, 18 silver and 27 bronze. Canada occupies second place with 35 medals (13 gold, 10 silver and 12 bronze), while England is third with 43 medals, including 10 gold, 18 silver and 15 bronze. Host nation Scotland sits fourth with 15 medals—seven gold, four silver and four bronze—just ahead of Nigeria. Malaysia is sixth with 10 medals, made up of five gold, two silver and three bronze, while South Africa occupies seventh place with 16 medals, including four gold, seven silver and five bronze. New Zealand, India and Jamaica complete the top 10. Nigeria’s latest additions came through athletics on Tuesday. Kayinsola Ajayi won bronze in the men’s 100 metres, becoming the first Nigerian to medal in the event at the Commonwealth Games since Olusoji Fasuba claimed silver in 2006. Temitope Adeshina also earned a bronze medal in the women’s high jump after clearing 1.90 metres, further boosting Nigeria’s medal tally as the competition continues in Glasgow.
