The McDonald Volunteer Fire Department is receiving a $100,000 state grant to pave the department’s parking lot and install an electronic sign for community and fire department announcements.
Philip Boggs, McDonald’s fire chief, worked with state Rep. Jason Ortitay of the 46th Legislative District to secure the funding.
“McDonald’s volunteer firefighters give countless hours to keep our community safe, and they deserve facilities and tools to match their commitment,” Ortitay said in a news release.
“This grant addresses a practical need with the parking lot while also giving the department a modern way to share important updates with residents.”
“These improvements will serve the volunteers of our great department, as well as the surrounding communities, for many years to come.”
