Chicago Executive Airport in suburban Wheeling was briefly closed Tuesday after a plane left a runway after landing on the tarmac. According to officials at the airport, a business jet landed on a runway at the airport at approximately 5:27 p.m. While that airplane was turning onto an adjacent taxiway, its landing gear left the paved surface and became stuck, according to officials. There were no immediate reports of injuries, with two individuals safely evacuated off the plane according to airport officials. The plane then returned to the airport, where its landing gear became stuck as it turned onto the taxiway.
