The four albums had previously only been available on cassette tapes distributed to members of the Sai Anatam Ashram in the 80s and 90sFour previously unavailable albums of devotional music by Alice Coltrane are to be reissued by Matador. Known collectively as the Ashram Tapes, the records will be released in full with restorations of Coltrane’s original mixes and artwork. The albums – Turiya Sings, Divine Songs, Infinite Chants and Glorious Chants – were originally released on cassette tapes distributed to members of the Sai Anatam Ashram in the 80s and 90s. The profundity of Turiya Alice Coltrane’s musical offerings now being made publicly available is in alignment with a divine order, something Alice often spoke about. Matador will release Ashram Tapes soon.
