Adewale was arrested in Nigeria on August 17, 2023, during an FBI operation targeting alleged s+x¥al extortionists who preyed on victims in the U.S. He was extradited to America on February 13, 2026, with the support of Nigerian authorities, including the Attorney General of the Federation, the Federal Ministry of Justice and the EFCC, before pleading guilty in April. Reacting to the latest conviction, U.S. Attorney David Metcalf said, “All three defendants have finally been brought to justice.
