The dock at Fawley Waterside was recently brought back to life to support SailGP’s cutting-edge catamarans ahead of the Emirates Great Britain Sail Grand Prix in Portsmouth.
The Fawley Waterside dock was used for the assembly, maintenance and launch of SailGP’s high-tech catamarans, marking the return of significant maritime activity to the site.
Fawley Waterside Limited is currently developing an employment-led masterplan for the 100-acre site.
The Solent maritime sector supports 3,000 businesses and 198,500 jobs and generates £7.7 billion in GVA each year.
By turning the former power station into a hub for innovation, energy, and industry, Fawley Waterside hopes to attract investment across the maritime, energy, and digital sectors.
