Martin and Southampton-based Sunstorm Covers are among 17 firms to receive grants from the Made Smarter South East programme, a government-funded scheme which supports manufacturers. In Southampton, Sunstorm Covers secured a £12,500 grant toward a £25,500 investment in a Leica 3D scanning system. The Made Smarter South East programme is delivered by Surrey County Council in partnership with 11 local authorities and Local Enterprise Partnerships, including Hampshire County Council and Solent LEP. Bryan Vint, programme manager for Made Smarter South East, said: "These projects are a fantastic example of what can be achieved when manufacturers combine ambition with the right support." Through the programme, eligible manufacturers can access expert advice, leadership development, digital skills training, funded internships and match-funded technology grants of up to £20,000.
