Charlie’s Toy Trade Box, located in the field behind Gosport Bowling Club, began as a simple dog toy exchange and has since grown into a community hub for dog owners and their pets. Ms Orchard said: "It costs nothing to be kind. Inspired by "trinket trading" boxes she had seen online, Ms Orchard repurposed a shelving trolley into a toy box for dogs, filled with toys, treats, and waste bags, all cleaned and checked regularly. Earlier this month, Ms Orchard was surprised by a complete stranger, Dave, who had built and hand-painted a new toy box, complete with brand-new dog supplies. The new box will continue to operate as a free, donation-based resource for dog owners, and a place to connect and socialise.
