Ryan Ward, 32, from Dalston, who has cerebral palsy affecting all four limbs, received the device after Cumbria Cerebral Palsy secured a grant of £1,999.99 from The Talisman Charitable Trust. The laptop enables him to connect with friends and family via Messenger, Zoom, and video calls, as well as take part in online activities that support his independence. Mr Ward's mother, Carol Ward, said the new laptop has already had a profound impact. As a full-time wheelchair user with very limited verbal communication, Mr Ward relies on his laptop for social connections and independence. Mark Jones, grant funding officer at Cumbria Cerebral Palsy, secured funding for the device from The Talisman Charitable Trust.
