Kevin Kerr, 55, threw himself into everything he got involved with, making a difference wherever he went. Born in May 1971, he was the only son of Rita and the late Kevin and was doted on by four older sisters. In February 2005, Kevin and Dave became one of the first same-sex couples in Cumbria to be approved as foster carers. Kevin supported each of the boys to reach their full potential and they, in turn, viewed him as a dad. When the charity moved its focus to West Cumbria, Kevin launched Kilngate, the Small Animal Sanctuary.
