Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti said security forces had launched a search operation in the mountainous Rakhni area to hunt down those responsible.
Ibrahim Baloch, station house officer of Sadar Police Station in Turbat, said the victims were from Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
“One laborer who was from Swabi district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was killed on the spot while six others, four from Punjab and two from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, were kidnapped,” he told Arab News.
“Police and other law enforcement agencies have launched a joint search operation for the safe recovery of the abducted laborers.”
The latest attacks come despite an ongoing security offensive launched by Pakistani forces in early July under Operation Shaban, aimed at dismantling militant networks across Balochistan.
