National Women’s Football Association has endorsed Football Association of Malawi (FAM) president Fleetwood Haiya’s bid for a second term. The women’s FA approved Haiya’s candidature through its chairperson Adellaide Migogo in Rabat, Morocco on Monday where he hosted Malawi’s delegation to the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. | Courtesy of FAMIn a statement, Migogo said the women’s FA is indebted to Haiya for investing in women’s football which she said led to the Malawi Women’s National Football Team’s maiden qualification for Wafcon. “The FAM president has supported women’s football programmes; hence, the endorsement,” said the women’s FA leader, who is also a FAM executive member. The women’s FA has become the seventh FAM affiliate to endorse Haiya after the four regional associations, National Football Referees Association and National Beach Soccer Association.
