New report reveals toll on TP interpreters in the US

Interpreters working for TP (formerly Teleperformance) in the US face unsafe, stressful working conditions according to a new report by UNI Global Union affiliate, the Communications Workers of America (CWA).
The study “Speaking of Safety: Remote Interpreters Report Unsafe, Stressful Conditions and Burnout at French Outsourcer TP” released by the CWA today, surveyed 245 interpreters on health and safety issues across two TP subsidiaries – LanguageLine Solutions and ZP Better Together.
Findings include:More than three-quarters of respondents (76%) strongly disagreed that TP provides enough time between calls for workers to recover.
UNI signed the Global Agreement on Social Responsibility with TP in 2022, which is currently under renewal.
“TP must do a better job to address the health and safety issues raised in this report.
