Long-awaited renovations to FDNY Engine 251 in Eastern Queens are coming after Council Member Linda Lee presented $7 million in funding to the firehouse on Friday.
Engine 251, located on the eastern edge of Queens, has served Glen Oaks and the surrounding Eastern Queens communities since 1952.
She added that she is grateful to Council Speaker Julie Menin for her support in making the investment a reality.
Menin also thanked Lee for her leadership and said the City Council was “honored to support the incredible work of the FDNY.”
“We are grateful to Council Member Linda Lee, Speaker Menin and the City Council for their continued partnership and commitment to investing in the FDNY,” she said.
