A Tuscaloosa nonprofit that serves students and families in the city school system has received a $75,000 donation to expand its community resource programs. Tuscaloosa City Schools' New Heights Foundation received the gift from Boost Giving, a privately funded family initiative that provides grants to small nonprofits addressing essential needs in local communities. The funds will support the New Heights Community Resource Center's wraparound services, which connect families with health care, mental health services, academic support, homelessness prevention and youth development programs. "We are deeply grateful for Boost Giving's incredible support, which will allow us to expand our impact throughout the greater Tuscaloosa community," said Kalissa Bormann, zone manager for New Heights.
