A June 16 dirt bike chase through Oakland with Pitt university police resulted in a combined 24 charges for three Panthers football players, court documents show. Hicks’ charges include riot and fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer (third- degree felonies), recklessly endangering another person (second-degree misdemeanor) and disorderly conduct and reckless driving (summary offenses). Ferguson’s and Robinson’s felony riot charges have since been withdrawn, as have summary offenses for reckless driving and driving an unregistered vehicle. Robinson was alleged by university police to have nearly struck a pedestrian during the incident, as was Hicks. Hicks’ preliminary arraignment was scheduled for Monday, and his preliminary hearing is set for Aug. 11.
