A pair of whisky thieves used a van stolen from a vehicle hire firm to ramraid a Dundee supermarket. Garry Hay and Peter Winks were jailed for more than five-and-a-half years combined for their chaotic attack on the Brook Street Co-Op in March. Dundee Sheriff Court heard how they approached the main doors of the Co-Op in the van just before 4.15am on Sunday, March 8 this year. “He then approached the kiosk area and removed a quantity of whisky bottles from the display to the value of £596.” Some of the whisky stolen included bottles of Timorous Beastie, Creagdhu and Old Pulteney.
