More than 5,000 missed bin collections have been reported to New Forest District Council in the past 10 weeks, it has been revealed. The change from weekly sack collections is designed to increase recycling (picture: NFDC)While missed collections were previously blamed on “teething issues” by the council, residents are still reporting issues. “We apologise to any residents who have experienced a missed collection and continue to work hard to resolve any issues that arise promptly. Where a missed collection is reported, or where we are aware of an issue, we aim to return within three working days.” The figures come as residents at a Forest retirement complex were left “frustrated” after their food waste collections were missed for four weeks.
