800-home plan including school and industrial park slammed as 'not fit for purpose'

Suffolk county councillor Julia Ewart, who represents Saxmundham and district, has raised concerns about outline plans for the Saxmundham Garden Neighbourhood, submitted by Pigeon homes.
"After a detailed assessment of the planning documents, supporting evidence and the relevant planning policy, I have reached the conclusion that, at this time, the application is simply not fit for purpose."
She acknowledged that some development will be necessary and that the area is allocated for growth under the Local Plan.
A spokesman for Pigeon said: "Pigeon is proud to be working with local stakeholders to deliver on the ambitions for the South Saxmundham Garden Neighbourhood.
