Belagavi: A 62-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly impersonating the owner of a property and fraudulently registering its sale deed at the Sub-Registrar's Office in Belagavi.
According to the police, on January 10 Rafiq had alleged that his family's property was sold without their knowledge.
Police said Desai allegedly appeared at the Sub-Registrar's Office pretending to be the complainant's uncle, who was the original owner of the property.
Desai was arrested on Tuesday and produced before a court, which remanded him to judicial custody.
The accused was traced by a team from the Market Police Station led by Police Inspector JM Kalimirchi and PSI HL Kerur.
