HVAC firm and Derby Museums to offer a glimpse into engineering careers as local firms struggle to recruit next generation of installersDerbyshire-based HVAC firm Vaillant UK has announced it is partnering with local museums to encourage the next generation of engineers.
Vaillant UK said the scheme considers local employers who have noted a shortage of young people ready for technical roles.
Students are selected for the ‘Launch into Engineering’ programme based on interviews and their interest in engineering careers.
Charlotte Convey, head of learning at Derby Museums, said the programme would “inspire and upskill students through twenty-first century learning rooted in creativity and making”.
Bemrose School was the first to complete the programme, said Vaillant, with one student reportedly describing it as the “best week of my life”.
