The firm is partnering with heat pump manufacturer Daikin to launch HPIN Direct, noting that the exclusion of many installers was “putting the brakes” on the adoption of heat pumps. Clayton Browne, managing director of EDF heat pumps, said the umbrella scheme was a chance to get thousands more installers working on rollout of low-carbon technology. “We often hear there are not enough installers for the demand in heat pumps. “The demand for heat pump installers is growing ever more urgent – with the current shortage of installers holding back heat pump adoption in the UK market,” he said. In 2022, EDF announced a strategic partnership with heat pump specialist CB heating with the aim of producing an end-to-end installation service through CB’s Heat Pump Installers Network (HPIN) of 500 approved traders.
