The ventilation firm is set to release a smart system enabling landlords to monitor properties ahead of new rules on rapid resolution of damp and mould problemsVentilation firm Vent-Axia has designed a fan system that can provide real-time data on indoor air-quality to social housing providers.
Ashley Smith, product manager at Vent-Axia, improves upon previous models, adding Switchee’s internet-connected monitoring systems for a “future-ready combination”.
Vent-Axia, which published guidance for landlords on the new law earlier this year, said the new product had been designed specifically for the social sector.
The firm said it is “the first UK ventilation company to provide remotely accessible fan data to housing providers”.
Switchee devices provide a touchscreen LED display through which social housing providers can send messages, such as advising tenants to turn on heating or make environmental recommendations without visiting the property.
