Fermanagh mourns respected educator Bryan Gallagher

FERMANAGH is mourning the loss of Bryan Gallagher whose remarkable life as an educator, author, broadcaster and community leader left an indelible mark on generations across the county.
Formerly of Drumclay Link, Mr Gallagher (91) passed away peacefully on Thursday, leaving behind a legacy that touched countless young people and various communities throughout the county.
AdvertisementBorn in Lurgan in 1935, Bryan Gallagher won a Queen’s University scholarship aged 15, excelled academically, and pursued interests including rowing, boxing and violin.
Mr Gallagher enjoyed a joyous 63 years of marriage with his wife Maeve, who passed away just a few weeks ago.
Local legacyAway from education and broadcasting, Bryan was a hugely important figure in the cultural life of the county.
