ST Engineering’s Urban Solutions business secured an $840m turnkey rail services contract for Taiwan’s Taoyuan MRT Brown Line.
Under the contract, the group will lead project management and systems integration and provide supervisory control and data acquisition, communications, automatic fare collection, and platform screen door systems.
In addition, it will oversee the integration and delivery of the signalling system, track works, and civil works for the bulk substation building.
The 11.38-kilometre Brown Line will have seven stations and connect Taoyuan City with the Greater Taipei area.
The contract was awarded by the Taoyuan City Government to a consortium comprising ST Engineering and Hyundai Rotem, who will supply the rolling stock and power system.
