Bhopal: Nishatpura railway station, which had been awaiting operations for nearly three years, was officially opened on Tuesday.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav flagged off the Malwa Express from the station, marking the start of its regular halt there.
The new station has also begun serving as a stop for the Jabalpur-Veraval Somnath Express, making Nishatpura the fourth railway station in Bhopal.
He added that upcoming railway improvements would make train movement between Delhi, Ujjain and Indore smoother by reducing operational delays.
Minister Vishwas Sarang called the start of Nishatpura station a major development for Bhopal and the Narela assembly area, saying it would boost the city’s growth.
