Officers are investigating reports that a woman was assaulted in Crellin Street at around 11.45pm on July 23 before a second alleged assault took place in nearby Bath Street shortly after midnight. Ciaran Light, 30, of Dundonald Street, Barrow, has charged with two counts of assault by beating. Light appeared before Barrow Magistrates' Court on July 25 where he denied both charges. Cumbria Police are continuing their investigation and are urging anyone who witnessed either incident, or who may have information that could assist officers, to come forward.
