A recruitment event is being held at Barrow Fire Station on Thursday, July 30 between 6pm and 7.30pm. The drive for extra on-call firefighters is also needed at Walney Fire Station with both sites working collaboratively on the night. A spokesperson said: "Do you live or work within eight minutes of Barrow Fire Station, or do you live or work within five minutes of Walney Fire Station? "We want you - make a difference in your community and come along to Barrow Fire Station this Thursday." Full training will be provided for the successful applicants meaning those with no experience are still invited to attend.
