Trade body representing ventilation and building protection sector argues for strict new requirements around enforcing ventilation standards in new buildings from next yearThe planned introduction of England’s Future Homes Standard in 2025 offers a much-needed opportunity to address ventilation standards, the Property Care Association (PCA) argues. James Berry, deputy chief executive of the trade body, told H&V News that it was vital to ensure that ventilation was therefore being adequately considered alongside low carbon initiatives introduced from 2025 under the Future Homes Standard. Mr Berry said: “That is a particular concern if we make our buildings increasingly airtight, to meet the requirements of the Future Homes Standard. Our research in 2020 among PCA members revealed that they believed less than 30 per cent of installations complied with Building Regulations. The Certificated Specialist in Dwelling Ventilation (CSDV) qualification is targeted at both installers and building control teams to understand compliance.
