Formal agreement reached with UK regulator to amend marketing of certain boilers over concerns consumers may be misled how about its technologies use the gasWorcester Bosch has agreed to work with the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) to address concerns raised about its marketing of ‘hydrogen-blend ready boilers’.
It added: “In particular, the CMA was concerned that Worcester Bosch’s claims could give the false impression that consumers would reduce their carbon footprint and ‘future-proof’ their heating system by buying a Worcester Bosch boiler on account of it being ‘hydrogen-blend ready’.
The manufacturer will also contact its network of installers and third-party suppliers to remove or change marketing materials on its hydrogen-blend ready systems.
However, no other formal investigations have so far been undertaken after action was taken to address the concerns raised.
Further work has also been undertaken to develop new boiler systems that can run on a full hydrogen supply.
