Strategies for an increasingly contested space domain will be discussed at the Potomac Officers Club’s 2026 Air and Space Summit on July 30. A Space Warfighting Concept will come next, addressing how the Joint Force and U.S. Space Command fight and win in space. U.S. Space Command also placed SWE 2040 against two Space Force publications. The Future Operating Environment 2040 defines the environment and the Objective Force 2040 defines the force, while SWE 2040 addresses how the Joint Force operates within them. Chance Saltzman, a Wash100 Award recipient, introduced the two Space Force documents at the 41st Space Symposium in April.
