Salida’s newest pocket park, Duck Inn, will officially open Wednesday with a grand opening ceremony celebrating the completion of an Eagle Scout project and recognizing decades of volunteer contributions to the city’s parks and trails.
The ceremony begins at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, at the park along the Arkansas River adjacent to County Road 153 and Sands Lake.
Duck Inn was developed through a partnership among Boy Scout Troop 60, Salida-area Parks, Open-space and Trails (SPOT), and Colorado Parks and Wildlife.
The park extends over the Arkansas River, providing a place for visitors to rest, fish, watch wildlife, and take in views of the surrounding landscape.
Duck Inn is located along the Arkansas River adjacent to County Road 153 near Sands Lake.
