For one afternoon everything felt perfectly ordinary, perfectly safe, and perfectly happy. Wherever Sarah was, trouble wasn’t far behind. Then came the Beatles, and the Seattle Centre announced that four mop-haired lads would appear on Aug. 12. Of course with great relief to my grandmother we didn’t get any, and the devastation was biblical.
