Vehicles will not be granted access to Downings beach over the course of the August bank holiday, it has been confirmed. Parking will not be permitted on the beach. Advertisement AdvertisementIt's not the first time that parking wasn't allowed on the popular beach, with the most recent restriction occurring over the Northern Ireland bank holiday 12th July weekend. In recent years illegal parking has caused issues for members of the emergency services and Coast Guard at Downings. Entrances to the beach and slipways, which are utilised by the Coast Guard, have often been blocked, causing a delay to lifeboat callouts.
