Dr. Mark Kimball McKenzie, 66, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on July 19, 2026. Born on Dec. 11, 1959 in Ames, Iowa, Mark was the beloved son of Dr. Kenneth and Mardis McKenzie (Kimball). Mark is also survived by his children: Jacob (Jenny) McKenzie, John McKenzie, and Madeline (Jai) McKenzie, who each carry forward his lessons, warmth, and unwavering encouragement. Mark was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Kenneth McKenzie; mother, Mardis McKenzie; brother, Dr. David McKenzie; and sister, Dr. Jacquelyn McKenzie. In his decades spent in North Platte, Mark became an integral part of the community.
