Irish News
Ian Milne was remembered yesterday for his efforts as a Drumcree peace-broker at a service of thanksgiving which recalled his remarkable life.
A biography of Mr Milne detailed his role as a mediator behind the scenes during the bitter Drumcree parading dispute in his native Portadown.
A portrait of Mr Milne was one of 35 included in an exhibition on “quiet peacemakers” at Stormont in 2014.
“There was always a restless energy about Ian Milne, he was always willing to take up a cause or indeed take on a scrap,” Mr Harper added.
Mr Milne, a father-of-three who had a passion for motorbike racing and local soccer, died aged 64 on September 28.
