The revered independent will oversee the first complete authorised release of the four devotional Ashram Tapes that legendary American jazz musician and composer Alice ColtraneTuriyasangitananda recorded during the 80s and 90s. 2018 saw Luaka Bop compiled materials from the second, third, and fourth albums as the acclaimed album ‘The Ecstatic Music of Alice Coltrane Turiyasangitananda’. Available on vinyl, compact disc, cassette, and all digital formats, the features merge gospel, traditional Indian chants, and avant-garde jazz utilising synths, organs, and the Ashram choir. The profundity of Turiya Alice Coltrane’s musical offerings now being made publicly available is in alignment with a divine order, something Alice often spoke about.
