(Mark Felix/Bloomberg)Key Takeaways: French firm Gaztransport & Technigaz on July 28 raised its 2026-2035 LNG carrier design order forecast to about 550 ships from more than 450.
CEO Francois Michel said accelerating LNG export investment, especially in the U.S., drove the increase after 84 million tons and 37 million tons received approvals.
GTT reported 56 LNG carrier orders in the first half and plans to outline turnkey LNG fuel tank and digital route optimization offerings.
Final investment decisions were made on 84 million tons per year of new LNG capacity last year, followed by another 37 million tons in the first half of this year.
An additional 29 million tons of projects received a limited notice to proceed during the period, he said.
