ScotRail has announced the expanded timetable to support festival goers during Edinburgh’s busy August events season, including the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and International Festival.
Passengers from the Borders will benefit from enhanced services, with additional late-night trains and longer carriages running between Edinburgh and Tweedbank throughout the festival period.
Mark Ilderton, service delivery director at ScotRail, said: "The Edinburgh festivals are among the highlights of Scotland's cultural calendar, attracting visitors from across the world, and we're proud to help people travel to and from the capital throughout this incredibly popular period."
Mr Ilderton said: "By adding extra late-night trains and using longer trains on routes in and out of Edinburgh, we're making it easier for customers to enjoy everything the festivals have to offer, whether they're heading to an afternoon performance or staying out for one last show before catching the train home.
Festival services will run from August 7 to 30.
