Banyana Banyana suffered a shock defeat to Tanzania in their opening match of Group B WAFCON clash. Two goals in either half saw the Twigga Stars emerge victorious in an encounter where South Africa had many chances but were unable to convert. No matter how much South Africa tried, they just could not find the back of the net. That result spelt further bad news for Banyana Banyana with just the top two sides in each group progressing to the quarter-finals. Banyana Banyana will now regroup and continue preparations for their clashes against Ivory Coast on Friday, 31 July (18:00 SA time) and Burkina Faso on Tuesday, 4 August at 21:00 (SA time).
