NCCI reported that overall workers compensation medical costs in June 2026 are 1% higher than they were at the same point in 2025. “While there was some concern that tariffs would lead to higher drug prices, drug prices have instead declined for six consecutive months,” NCCI said. NCCI’s Workers Compensation Weighted Medical Price Index adjusts national medical inflation data to reflect how workers compensation dollars are actually spent. Rather than weighting medical services according to overall U.S. health care spending, the index emphasizes the mix of services that make up workers compensation medical costs.
