Apple Inc. (AAPL) is today flirting with the $5 trillion market capitalization line, which is the total value of all of the company’s outstanding shares. The company’s stock briefly passed the $340 mark in intraday trading, which pushed the company’s market cap above $5 trillion for the first time ever, making it the second stock to enter that stratosphere. The landmark comes less than a year after Apple surpassed the $4 trillion valuation in October 2025. Investors will be watching closely to see what changes, if any Ternus makes in how Apple is run. Apple is once again the world’s most valuable public company, having surpassed its closest competitor, Nvidia, which was the first stock to hit the $5 trillion valuation mark.
