Herts Police were called to a row involving a group of people in Hempstead Road, Watford, by the ambulance service at 8.26pm on Friday (July 24).
A man in his 50s, who had reportedly been assaulted outside Watford Central Library, was taken to hospital.
The force described his injuries as ABH-level (actual bodily harm).
This refers to injury which is more than “trifling” or “transient” but less serious or permanent than GBH (grievous bodily harm), according to the sentencing council.
A police spokesperson said: “Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to report via 101 or online, quoting 41/70378/26.”
