Former Gombe FA chairman, Ahmed Shuaibu Gara Gombe gave the admonition when addressing newsmen in Abuja that constant change in the NFF leadership will not automatically solve the country’s hydra=headed football problems. Gara lamented that using our non-qualification for the just concluded FIFA World Cup to judge Gusau is not fair insisting that football development is a gradual process that requires stability, competence and continuity. Gara maintained that Gusau inherited myriad of overwhelming and several structural challenges and deserves the opportunity to complete his reforms and seek another term in office. The football administrator urged critics to respect differing opinions, revealing that he had received insults and threats for publicly supporting the NFF president. The NFF elective congress is slated for Lafia, Nasarawa state on September 29th ,2026.
